Kari Novatney is executive vice president of development at Corinthian Development Company. Prior to joining Corinthian, Ms. Novatney served as chief financial officer and chief operating officer of Ridemakerz, a unique retail company that inspires the self-expression of children through the creation of custom toy cars, or “ridez”.
Ms. Novatney has more than 15 years of general management experience in the entertainment, retail, and consumer products industries that spans Fortune 500 companies, including Disney and Sony, to small not-for-profit organizations and public redevelopment projects.
She began her career at Disney as a financial analyst responsible for the development of cash flow projections for new businesses, including evaluating the strategic value of new ventures across Disney business units. She was promoted to operations management and served as the operations representative in the design process for new attractions.
After three years at Disney, Ms. Novatney was recruited to lead operations and planning for new entertainment ventures at Sony Retail Entertainment. She was ultimately promoted to senior vice president and general manager of the business unit, overseeing the development and operations of Metreon, Sony’s flagship entertainment development located in downtown San Francisco.
Since leaving Sony, she has been active in management assignments for NAVTEQ, the industry leader in digital navigation systems, and as CFO of a small robotics manufacturing company in Washington. Additionally, she served as interim turnaround CEO of Zeum, a not-for-profit children’s museum.
Ms. Novatney is a graduate of Stanford University with a degree in industrial engineering and engineering management.
