James Wolford serves as Corinthian Development Company’s chief executive officer, responsible for the overall operation, administration and strategic direction of the firm. He brings with him a wealth of experience, with more than 30 years of financial and operations experience in the commercial real estate industry.
Prior to joining Corinthian, Mr. Wolford was president and chief operating officer of TNP Realty Advisors, where he oversaw the management and leasing of more than 19 million square feet of commercial property and in excess of $500 million in successful acquisition and disposition transactions. He also participated in raising more than $125 million in equity to support the acquisition of more than $300 million of commercial property investments on behalf of a publicly registered real estate investment trust.
Mr. Wolford previously served as chief financial officer of Pacific Office Properties, where his efforts were focused primarily on working with investment bankers, accountants and others on a $350 million secondary offering, and $125 million line of credit to support the company’s growth objectives.
Prior to Pacific Office Properties, Mr. Wolford served for more than six years as chief financial officer of Bixby Land Company, a private, diversified REIT with assets in excess of $1 billion. While with Bixby, Mr. Wolford led initiatives that significantly increased cash flow, including the company’s conversion to the more tax-efficient REIT structure, and negotiated $1 billion in debt and equity to support the company’s strategic growth.
Mr. Wolford has also worked in a senior executive capacity with AIMCO, one of the largest owners and operators of apartment communities in the United States. As CFO, Mr. Wolford served as an executive officer of Bixby Ranch Company from 1985 to 2000, during which he repositioned a 6 million-square-foot portfolio, producing a significant increase in value. His career began in 1980 at The Walt Disney Company as director of finance and investor relations.
Mr. Wolford sits on the board of directors of a $9.0 billion mutual fund family and holds a real estate broker’s license from the State of California. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California, where he earned a bachelor’s degree and a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in real estate and finance.
